CL – Lockheed Martin opening in Clinton a bright spot in dark economy
News that Lockheed Martin Corp. is on target in September to to open a technology support center in Clinton, creating 350 new jobs, is a bright light in what appears a rather gloomy economic picture locally and nationally.
Second District U.S. Rep. Bennie Thompson, D-Bolton, was successful in helping bring the company to Mississippi, with the help of local and state leaders.
Lockheed Martin is the top federal contractor for the government, and this center will support all its operations, military and otherwise.
It’s another addition to Mississippi’s defense-related jobs that are so important to the state.
