AP Analysis – Lt. gov. candidates Hewes, Reeves have markedly different styles
JACKSON — Billy Hewes and Tate Reeves are picking each other apart in the Republican primary for lieutenant governor, each accusing the other of doing too little to control the state’s long-term debt.
In reality, there’s scant difference in their political philosophies. Hewes and Reeves are both fiscal conservatives who say they oppose tax increases and social conservatives who oppose abortion and support gun rights.
The two men are very different in their personal styles.
