Inside the SEC: Coaches have more fun in college than in the NFL

Spurrier said the NFL just isn’t as much fun as college football.
“Just the lifestyle of the NFL is so different from the lifestyle of the college coach,” he said. “In the NFL, every time you lose it is always the coach’s fault. It is not the players’ fault. … The losses, maybe you take them a little more personally in the NFL than in college and there are a lot of games. It wears on you a little bit. I just think in college when you know you’re pretty much running the show, if it doesn’t work out, well, at least I did it my way. I’m not dependent on the general manager, the president and the owner.”
