FSU’s Bobby Bowden leaves a remarkable legacy behind
The first BCS Championship game I covered for SI.com was the Florida State-Virginia Tech Sugar Bowl, 10 years ago this January. At the time, the Seminoles were at the peak of their unmatched string of dominance, notching their 13th straight finish in the nation’s top four and their second of three straight BCS title game appearances.
Two days before the game, Bobby Bowden held court with reporters on the Superdome turf, cracking jokes in his trademark Southern drawl.
