Tyler Wilson worked from the shotgun throughout his stellar high school career. He threw for 8,161 yards and 92 touchdowns in his final two seasons while leading Greenwood High School to Arkansas 5A state championships both seasons.
Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska and Arkansas recruited him. He stayed in-state with the Razorbacks in 2008, and by all accounts, possesses a bright future.
If only he could run the offense from under center.
“It was new and very hard and frustrating for him,” Arkansas coach Bobby Petrino said. “Personally, I didn’t think it would take him that long, and I know he didn’t think that. It was simply that he hadn’t done that before. He hadn’t even stepped in the huddle and called a play.”
