Scruggsville – Biggers didn’t buy blog argument, will rule on wiretaps 2/26

Things aren’t going well in Scruggsville. Last Thursday, federal judge Neal Biggers rejected Dickie Scruggs defense attorneys’ motions for a change of venue because of the local media coverage, including “local” blogs [Most blogs are global in reach, the exception are those rigged up for a specialized reader base.]. More importantly, Judge Biggers tossed the defense motion to dismiss the bribery charge because of lack of federal jurisdiction over what, the attorneys argue, is a state bribery case.

Tomorrow the Judge will rule on the matter of the wiretaps, which some point to as the smoking gun since Scruggs allegedly discussed actual money that would be paid in bribes.
